Before leaving for Kuwait, I was a non-smoker. And I went back to smoking when I arrive in Kuwait. It’s easier to meet colleagues – they are all in the smoking room – it gives you something to do and it helps to make bonds with people. To be clear : socially, smoking always helped me ! But I decided, 48 hours ago, to quit smoking.
To talk about money is kind of a taboo in France : we don’t talk about salaries, we don’t talk about savings. Everybody does his own business by his side, without talking about it to anyone. But let’s be honest : everybody who comes to Kuwait comes for money. Nobody comes to Kuwait for the beauty of the landscape or for the history of the country. We come to Kuwait for money.
When I arrived in Kuwait, I met a french guy. We became friends and four months later, he left. It was the first time of my life I had to deal with the fact that someone I liked had to leave. Not the first time of my life. But the first time since I was living alone in a country without any friends. He was a sort of anchor for me, he was my “Thanks-God-I-am-not-alone” person and he left. Just like this. And then, after, I realized I had to deal with the leavings.
Let’s talk about something who drove me crazy since I arrived in Kuwait. How to feel like home in a country you don’t know ? It’s weird to leave our family, our friends and our habits to move to another place. So I thought a lot about it and I will give you few advices to not do the same mistakes I did.
On my first post, I left you in Yazd, small town in the middle of the desert. We stayed there two days, it was so hot and my hair started to be full of knots because of the scarf !
Do you know the club of 5% ?
In my last post, I explained few facts about Iran to help you organize your trip in this country. Today, I will explain in more details what we did there !
Twelve days in Iran, between Tehran, Kashan, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz.
When it’s about weight, every country has its own standard.
In every society, there is beauty standards. I have the feeling, even if it’s changing, that in France, the beauty is in skinny girls. In Kuwait, it’s the opposite : women have more shapes. Jane Birkin VS Kim Kardashian, more or less.
How to choose your next trip ?
Two years ago, I posted one question on my Facebook account : Sri Lanka, Nepal or Iran ? I couldn’t make a choice so I let people choose for me. Few minutes after, I had a text from one of my friend. “If you are going to Iran, I’ll go with you”. As soon as I read it, I booked my flight and ten days after, I was waiting for my friend in Teheran.
I am French but I didn’t travel in France that much. I traveled a lot outside of France, I crossed a lot of borders and my passport is full of visa but when it’s about France… So, every time I go to France for summer, I try to visit some places close to Paris to know better France. So, I went to the Chateau de Montvillargenne for two days !
